Hella marine LED on Elliott 7's

Auckland's Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron has installed Hella marine LED navigation lighting on their fleet of Elliott 7m yachts used for their youth training program. The smaller keelers have no engines and rely on a small 12V battery to power the lighting, an idea solution when coupled to Hella marine LED technology consuming less than 2W per boat.

The RNZYS Youth Training Program has been highly successful, spawning at least four teams on the World Match Racing Tour including the current world champions, Black Match Racing.

Graduates of the programme now compete in most high profile international sailing events such as The Volvo Ocean Race, the world match racing circuit, Americas Cup campaigns and Olympic sailing.
