Maritimo 73 flagship shines with new Hella marine LED technology.

A star attraction of the 2009 Sydney International Boat Show was the world premier of Maritimo’s new flagship cruising motoryacht, the M73. The largest Australian production motoryacht to date, the new Maritimo features the latest marine technology onboard, the most visible being a brand new LED lighting package designed by long time OEM partner Hella marine.

As the M73 project developed, New Zealand’s Hella marine worked closely with Maritimo designers and engineers to develop the new boat into a showcase LED lighting installation. The result was a complete lighting plan, from downlights to courtesy lights, interior and exterior, capitalising on recent Hella marine
developments in highly efficient white light technology. Effective intensity, elegant fittings, reduced power consumption, interior enhancing colour rendering, ease of installation, reliability and overall cost effectiveness were all paramount aspects of the project. According to all involved, this demanding criteria has been successfully met on all accounts.

During his speech at the Sydney launch function, Maritimo CEO, Bill Barry-Cotter praised the new Hella marine LED lighting package and is delighted with the finished result. He was particularly impressed with the low power
consumption and virtually zero detectable heat signature of each lamp. Barry-Cotter realised early on the benefits he could offer Maritimo owners in terms of vastly reduced power consumption, improved safety and ongoing reliability with effective LED interior lighting systems.

The figures of the M73 lighting package tell the full story for this luxurious 73ft cruising motoryacht. 210 Hella marine LED downlights were installed throughout the interior and exterior levels with a total combined
power consumption is less than 7 Amps. This staggering efficiency is put into perspective when the estimated consumption to illuminate the same design with halogen lamps would total over 62 Amps.

Maritimo will move to equip further production models with new Hella marine white light technology. The features and benefits of highly efficient LED lighting packages have proved to be a winner for this innovative Australian boat builder.
